is a prescription one necessary? What cream/product is best for a teenager who wants to get rid of acne %26amp; acne spots and scars?
Don't use Proactiv, first of all. It made my skin terribly worse, and it's bad for your skin in general.
Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing worked for me until I went to a dermatologist. He gave me a cream for the morning, a cream for before I go to bed, and some acne medication pills.
The creams were Benzaclin and Retin-A. Benzaclin being for the morning and Retin-A being for night time.
I take 100mg Minocycline pills.
My skin is clear now. What cream/product is best for a teenager who wants to get rid of acne %26amp; acne spots and scars?
yeah i use a prescription for acne called Prascion and it works really great for sensitive skin (because the salicylic acid thats in proactiv is really bad for sensitive skin) i also use differin. there isnt much you can do about scars, just always put sunscreen on them so they dont get any darker and eventually fade
The over the counter drugs do not have the effectiveness you are looking for. There is a prescription cream called Retin-A. Ask your doctor for it. It helped me out when I was a young teen. It cleared up the skin amazingly well. It dries your skin out just a tad, but you got to give to get, right? Tanning helps as well. They key is taking the oxygen away from the pore which is the element the bacteria needs to form a pimple. In that manner, even calamine lotion is typically a better option than Oxy-10 or washes because it works by closing the oxygen supply off. Apply it before bed each night on the afected area. But talk to your doc about Retin-A. Its the only cream I've ever seen work.
i use clean and clear i love the way it makes my skin peal which makes the scars go away i just tried the new black head remover thing and it worked for me
i use the clean %26amp; clear maximum strenght persa gel 10 its like a tube you can get it at walmart it comes in a little see tru box and its only about 5 bucks =) i tried proactiv and it sucks
you could see a dermatologist or you could try proactive ..it works for alot of people and it's not too expensive!! I would give it a shot before seeing a doctor. Another thing that helps is getting a facial once a month to rehydrate your skin and get rid of any dead skin!! plus it's nice to pamper yourself once in awhile!!
1) Cook oatmeal and apply on face for fifteen minutes and wash.
2) Make a warm bath with blanch of nettle and rosemary.
3) Apply equal amount of lemon juice and rose water with a cotton ball and wash it after haif an hour for 15 to 20 days.

you dont need a prescription, im 16 and i use murad acne. its about 40 dollars with shipping and handling every month. its very effective for me. try it. go to www.murad.com then click their acne treatment. they also have a a cream/lotion that gets rid of blemishes.
No, it's not necessary. Just go to this site, www.skinID.com
You can fill out their questionare about your skin. Then they recommend prouducts for you to use. It makes sense because everyone's skin is different.
If your acne is really bad its better to get a prescription acne product. I was on Clindoxyl gel and Minocyclin. This stuff works. Plus it helps prevent more acne. Just talk to your doctor.
try differin........it really works!
